Le Patin Libre was born in 2005 when a crew of elite figure skaters finally had enough of glitter, medals, and pretending to smile while doing triple axels to pop ballads. So they quit the competition scene and started something wild: a new kind of ice show—smart, fierce, and fast.

Their first two creations, Vertical Influences (2014) and Threshold (2018), proved that contemporary art and skates can absolutely share the same sentence. Critics swooned. Audiences cheered. Even winter carnivals couldn’t get enough.

In 2022, Murmuration premiered at Théâtre de la Ville de Paris, turning the skaters into a high-velocity flock of birds in a hypnotic, breathtaking spectacle.

Le Patin Libre makes work that’s clever, beautiful, and rebellious. And now, they’re exploring a new frontier: bringing the art of glide from the ice to the stage.

Melt

Melt (La Fonte des glaces) is their first full-length roller-skating show, crafted for traditional theatres. It’s the same rush, the same finesse—just with wheels instead of blades.
