Since 2015, La Fille Du Laitier has been surprising audiences with bold and accessible theatre. The company began with a wild idea — turning a delivery truck into a mobile stage — and quickly charmed audiences with its doorstep theatre concept. Today, their work is presented both in public spaces and traditional venues, across Quebec and internationally.
Driven by an offbeat vision, they blend physical performance, object theatre, and absurdity to craft vivid, unforgettable stories. Their standout shows, Checkout 606 and Macbeth Muet, have won over both audiences and critics.
Checkout 606, performed over 300 times, invites us into a surreal grocery store where two cashiers — trapped in a hyper-controlled routine — dream of escape in a world where carrots dance and soy sauce falls in love. Macbeth Muet is a visceral, wordless reimagining of Shakespeare’s tragedy, performed in a dozen countries around the world.
Macbeth Muet
Macbeth Muet is a bold, wordless adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy. Drawing inspiration from silent cinema, Grand Guignol, and melodrama, the show delivers a visceral theatrical experience where physicality, objects, and buckets of fake blood collide. In this accelerated and darkly comedic race for power, the iconic story of Macbeth is deconstructed into a whirlwind of raw emotions and striking imagery. Audiences can expect a high-energy, choreographed performance supported by a gripping soundtrack and a touch of absurdity, offering a fresh and accessible take on Shakespeare that resonates with adults and teenagers alike.
