Sara Porter is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist who creates performance, writing and images at the intersection of literary memoir and movement. Her work is about what it's like to live in the world as a queer, over-50, artist with invisible disability and mother of three. She explores the body as a point of personal reflection to activate thinking, sensation and compassion and to laugh about the absurdity of things. Porter’s recent show “L-E-A-K” is an absurdist lesbian love letter to the edge of the ocean.

As an educator, Sara has developed and taught new curriculum for colleges and universities in Canada and Scotland. As a writer, her articles, artistic profiles, and histories are published through print and online media.

As Artistic Director of Sara Porter Productions since 2000, she has built queer infused ballet classes (bBallet FAB). She is founder of The Bad Poetry Drinking Group, an online forum for poetic play.
